Can compliance be fun?
Brian Gramm, 1/26/2010
As you already know, Milo Belle is not your standard consulting company. We make sure that compliance projects, whether it is PCI, SOX, banking compliance (too many to list), or even internal audit, is fun. Which, given the subject matter, is not always easy.
The larger consulting firms take the fun out of projects on purpose. Their motivation is to get junior staff following a checklist exactly as written, which then helps them make more money. The idea of spending money to have more fun during your PCI project is simply beyond them.
Banking compliance in Minneapolis, Denver, Sioux Falls, Omaha, Kansas City – wherever – can be made much more enjoyable by implementing a couple of things we do without thinking at Milo Belle. The first, and main, idea is to make sure to take the banking compliance project – such as a loan review – is taken very seriously. But, don’t take yourself too seriously. Every loan review project results in a list of items which were incorrect and need to be fixed, so don’t get wrapped around the axel when problems are found. Also, make sure to say hello, good-bye, and thank you to the receptionist every day. Trust me, they did something for you that day, even though they had nothing to do with the loan review compliance audit.
Milo Belle has a very high client retention rate. Sure, we are good at Governance, Risk, and Compliance, such as the loan review consulting or PCI topics noted above. Sure, we are about half the cost of our competitors in all the markets we serve. But we are also the most enjoyable GRC consultants to work with – bar none.
